PORCELAIN VENEERS

Your new smile,

designed for you.

where to begin

What porcelain veneers are

Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made shells bonded to the front of your teeth — designed to address the shape, colour and symmetry of your smile, and planned around your own features.

They can be an option for chips, discolouration, or uneven teeth. Ours are crafted locally by our lead technician, combining design and precision as part of the Studio approach.

Veneers are an irreversible procedure that involves removing some tooth structure — so they're planned carefully, with you, before anything begins.

why choose our studio

Where veneers are designed, not just fitted

Individually designed smiles

Every veneer is designed around you — your features, your goals, and what matters to you. We take the time to understand all three before anything begins.

Crafted right here in Ashburton

Each veneer is crafted locally by our lead technician, combining design with strength and resilience. With appropriate care, veneers may last for a number of years, though this varies by individual.

Co-designed with you

Through Digital Smile Design and a smile preview with try-on, treatment options are explored in collaboration with you — considering your goals, features and preferences.

Clarity in every step

Preview potential changes to your smile before treatment begins, so you can better understand what different options may look and feel like.

Veneer treatment at the Studio is planned using Digital Smile Design, an approach Dr Rob is one of a small number in Australia trained in at Master level.  Meet the Studio team

The Studio Experience

How veneer treatment works

A considered sequence, planned in full before anything begins — so nothing is rushed and nothing is a surprise.

I
Consultation & design

We begin with a detailed consultation and Digital Smile Design, so you can preview potential changes to your smile before any treatment begins.

II
Your smile preview

Try on a physical mock-up of your smile, so every detail is assessed and discussed — and you can make an informed decision about next steps.

III

Our on-site laboratory and lead technician refine every detail — each veneer designed around your own teeth and features.

IV
Ongoing support

We're with you at every stage, with follow-up care and guidance as needed — so your smile is cared for over time, not just delivered.

This is the veneer journey. See how the full Studio process works, stage by stage— The Process.

Potential Risks & Considerations

Risks and considerations

Like all dental procedures, veneers carry potential risks and limitations. Outcomes vary from person to person. It's important to understand the following before you decide.

Tooth preparation

Veneers often require removal of some natural tooth enamel, which is irreversible.

Tooth sensitivity

Some people may experience increased sensitivity to hot and cold after preparation.

Risk of damage

Veneers can chip, crack, or dislodge — especially with habits like teeth grinding, nail biting, or biting hard foods.

Colour matching

Veneers cannot be lightened once made. If surrounding teeth darken or change colour over time, veneers may appear different.

Longevity

Veneers may need replacement over time — commonly 10–15 years, but this varies per individual.

Gum health

Poor oral hygiene can lead to gum disease or recession, which may affect veneer appearance and function.

Irreversibility

Once prepared for veneers, teeth cannot return to their original state.

Maintenance

Good oral hygiene and regular dental care are essential to maintain veneer health.

Suitability

Not every patient is suitable for veneers. A full consultation with a registered dental practitioner is required to assess risks and determine whether veneers are appropriate for your individual situation — including alternative options where they may suit you better.

BEING UPFRONT

What veneer treatment costs

Veneer treatment is quoted individually, because what's involved varies — how many teeth, the condition of those teeth, and what you're hoping to address.

What doesn't vary is how you'll find out. Your first consultation happens across two parts — an initial appointment and a smile preview appointment — and your itemised plan comes to you in writing after the second. You take it home and decide in your own time.

For how treatment costs are quoted more generally, see Understanding Your Investment.

FIRST CONSULTATION - BOTH PARTS

$280

Covers both parts of your first consultation: your initial appointment and your smile preview appointment.

- A conversation about what you're hoping to address

- A comprehensive examination of your teeth, gums and bite

- Digital photographs, scans and imaging where clinically helpful

- Your Digital Smile Design and smile preview

- A discussion of your options — including the conservative ones

- Your written, itemised plan, following the smile preview appointment

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED WITH CARE

What people ask about veneers

  • Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made shells that are bonded to the front of your teeth to enhance their appearance.

  • Depending on the quality of the craftsmanship and with proper care, porcelain veneers can last a number of years. Results can vary case by case and by individual. Over time, veneers may require repair or replacement.

  • Veneers are designed in consultation with you, using tools such as Digital Smile Design and a smile preview with try-on, to help you preview potential changes. You'll be involved in decisions around colour, shape and texture, and our technician can advise on shade options. The aim is for a result well-matched to your features — though individual results can vary, and one person's result may not reflect the outcomes other patients experience.

  • Every patient's experience is different. Veneer treatment involves preparing the surface of the teeth, which may cause some temporary sensitivity or mild discomfort for some people.

Before beginning treatment, your dentist will talk through your individual comfort needs and what to expect at each stage, along with options to help you remain comfortable during the procedure. Any sensitivity afterwards is usually short term and can often be managed with standard care advice.

  • Veneers require the same care as natural teeth — daily brushing, flossing, and regular check-ups. After your treatment, you'll receive tailored instructions to help care for your veneers and support their longevity.

What a first consultation costs

We believe you should know the cost of a consultation before you book it — not discover it at the front desk.

Your consultation fee covers genuine clinical time with one of our dentists. If you proceed with treatment planning, we'll explain how consultation and planning fees relate to your overall treatment costs.
