DENTAL IMPLANTS

Restore your

smile

where to begin

A replacement that behaves like a tooth

A lasting way to replace missing teeth — restoring how your smile works, so you can eat, speak and live comfortably. An implant replaces the root of a missing tooth as well as the part you see, and it's fixed in place rather than removable.

A small titanium post is placed in the jaw, your bone integrates with it over several months, and a crown made for your mouth is fitted on top. Because the post is anchored in bone, it doesn't rely on neighbouring teeth for support, and it's cared for much like your own teeth.

IV
Ongoing support

We're with you at every stage, so your smile is cared for over time — not just delivered.

WORTH KNOWING

Implant treatment includes a healing period between placement and the final crown, so the full timeline usually runs across several months. Your written plan sets out the stages and the intervals before anything begins.

This is the implant journey. See how the full Studio process works, stage by stage — The Process.

Potential Risks & Considerations

Risks and considerations

Dental implants can provide a fixed replacement for missing teeth, but like all surgical and restorative procedures, they carry potential risks and limitations. Outcomes vary from person to person.

Surgical risks

As with any surgery, there may be bleeding, swelling, pain, infection, or bruising following the procedure.

Implant failure

In some cases, the implant may not integrate with the bone (osseointegration failure), which may require removal or replacement.

Bone and gum changes

Over time, bone or gum tissue may change around the implant, affecting stability or appearance.

Nerve or sinus involvement

In rare cases, surgery may impact nearby nerves, leading to temporary or permanent numbness or tingling, or may affect the sinus area in upper jaw placements.

Adjacent teeth or structures

There is a small risk of damage to neighbouring teeth or surrounding tissues during placement.

Healing variability

Healing times differ. Factors such as smoking, general health, or oral hygiene can affect implant success.

Mechanical risks

Crowns, bridges, or dentures attached to implants may chip, loosen, or require replacement over time.

Maintenance requirements

Implants require the same (or higher) level of oral hygiene and professional care as natural teeth. Poor maintenance can lead to peri-implantitis (gum infection and bone loss around the implant).

Longevity & suitability

While implants can be long-lasting, they are not guaranteed to last a lifetime and may require future maintenance or replacement. Not every patient is suitable for dental implants. A full consultation with a registered dental practitioner is required to assess risks and determine whether implants are appropriate for your individual situation.

BEING UPFRONT

What implant treatment costs

Implant treatment is quoted individually, because what's involved varies — how many teeth, the condition of the bone, whether other work is needed first, and which materials suit your case.

What doesn't vary is how you'll find out. Your first consultation happens across two parts — an initial appointment and a smile preview appointment — and your itemised plan comes to you in writing after the second. You take it home and decide in your own time.

For how treatment costs are quoted more generally, see

Understanding Your Investment.

FIRST CONSULTATION - BOTH PARTS

$280

Covers both parts of your first consultation: your initial appointment and your smile preview appointment if relevant.

- A conversation about what you're hoping to restore

- A comprehensive examination of your teeth, gums and bite

- Digital photographs, scans and imaging where clinically helpful

- Your Digital Smile Design and smile preview

- A discussion of your options — including the conservative ones

- Your written, itemised plan, following the smile preview appointment

The questions worth bringing

The best consultations are the ones where you feel equipped. We've put together a one-page guide of questions worth asking at any cosmetic dental consultation — ours included.

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED WITH CARE

What people ask about implants

  • Dental implants are titanium posts placed in the jawbone to replace missing teeth. They act as artificial roots for crowns, bridges, or dentures.

  • Dental implants may be one of several options for replacing missing teeth, but they are not suitable for everyone. Whether implants are appropriate depends on several factors, including your oral health, bone quality and quantity, general health, and lifestyle habits such as smoking.

A comprehensive clinical assessment is required before recommending implant treatment. Your dentist will discuss the potential benefits, limitations, and risks specific to your individual situation, along with alternative options such as bridges or dentures.

The decision to proceed with dental implants should always be made after a thorough consultation to ensure it aligns with your needs, expectations, and oral health goals.

  • With proper care, dental implants can last for decades, making them a durable, long-term solution.

  • We take every step to ensure your comfort throughout the process. With over 60 years of caring for smiles, we’re known for our gentle approach and patient-focused care that puts you at ease.

  • Care for implants by brushing, flossing, and visit us regularly to keep them in excellent condition. After treatment, our Patient Coordinator will discuss with you a detailed aftercare process to help you maintain your restored smile for years to come.
