We love seeing families & kids at Ashburton Family Dental, so this week’s tip is focused on children and how much toothpaste you should use.
Good oral health is part of overall good health. We speak to many parents who are eager to ensure they are looking after their children’s teeth well. A common question is how much toothpaste should be used – our tip is to remember that for little ones under 3 years old, use an amount equivalent to a grain of rice and for kids 3 to 6 years old, use a pea-sized amount.
It is important to use a toothpaste that contains fluoride as this strengthens the enamel of teeth. See last week’s post to read more about how fluoride helps to protect your smile.
We love seeing kids at Ashburton Family Dental and seeing them grow through the years. If you have any questions regarding how to care for your children’s teeth – please get in touch. 😃
Once again, from our family to yours – we wish you safety and all the best during this difficult time. We are currently OPEN to provide emergency dental care if required.
