Hi everyone, it’s Dr Rob with our 3rd lockdown dental home-care tip 👍
We often get asked by our patients whether they should use an electric or manual toothbrush. In most cases, our tip is to use an electric toothbrush.
Why do we recommend an electric toothbrush you may ask? Although both are capable tools to clean your teeth & gums (yes, don’t forget to brush your gums), an electric toothbrush generates many more revolutions. Revolutions are the brushing motion that the toothbrush generates and this is what helps to remove food and plaque – both of which can cause decay.
⚡With an electric toothbrush, you are more likely to get a better clean within the recommended 2 minutes. You may need to spend longer with a manual toothbrush to get the same result.
See post 1. from this series to read more about why teeth brushing is important. Check out our IGTV for Dr Rob’s video on how to best look after your teeth.
Wishing you & your family safety and all the best during this difficult time. We are currently OPEN to provide emergency dental care if required.
